The Connect Chicago Challenge is an effort to make Chicago the most dynamic digital city in the country. It aligns citywide digital leadership to coordinate and activate digital access and skills development interventions to enable every Chicagoan to fully participate in digital society.
The Challenge is led by a unique collaboration of dynamic partners: LISC Chicago, the Smart Chicago Collaborative, Chicago Public Library, the City of Chicago’s Department of Innovation and Technology, MacArthur Foundation, World Business Chicago, and The Chicago Community Trust.
Demond Drummer is the Managing Director of the Connect Chicago Challenge. His role is to provide strategic support to this unique cross-sector collaboration and advance key portions of the new venture. He has primary responsibility for managing and facilitating the day-to-day activities of the work and is accountable to the Challenge Steering Committee. He is an employee of the Chicago Community Trust working on the Smart Chicago team.
