The mission of the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is to protect the health and wellness of the people in Illinois through the prevention, health promotion regulation, and the control of disease and injury.
We have partnered with IDPH on the October 2013 Health Datapalooza, which we helped them organize and judge, and the Making Public Health Data Work Challenges, which we helped administer and judge. Winners of that contest were announced in April 2014.
The Department has also supplied a significant amount of health statistics for Chicago Health Atlas.
