The primary mission of the Police Accountability Task Force (PATF) is to lay the foundation for the rejuvenation of trust between the police and the communities that they serve by facing hard truths and creating a roadmap for real and lasting transparency, respectful engagement, accountability and change.
In February and March of 2016, the Smart Chicago Collaborative documented the four community forums hosted by the Chicago Police Accountability Task Force and held across the city by the PATF. This includes video that was used by the PATF on their Youtube page as well as text and video documentation. See more here on the project page. All materials created by Smart Chicago are licensed under Creative Commons 4.0 and are available for use by all.
Additionally, Smart Chicago executive director Daniel X. O’Neil served on the Early Intervention & Personnel Concerns Working Group of the PATF.
