Danielle is the representative of the City of Chicago on the Smart Chicago Operations Committee.
She oversaw all of our Broadband Technology Opportunities Program work and has been an essential guide in our Connect Chicago program.
Danielle is the First Deputy Commissioner and Chief Technology Officer for the Department of Innovation and Technology, City of Chicago. She directs the department’s Project Management Office, Business Relationship Management program, and IT policy initiatives. Danielle joined the City of Chicago in July 2008 and prior to taking her current position in 2012, she managed Chicago’s data initiatives, including the City’s Data Portal, as well as digital inclusion efforts. Before joining the City, Danielle oversaw the development of K-12 Reading and Language Arts educational software at the McGraw-Hill Companies. She has also worked in the Library and Archives field, serving a variety of educational and non-profit organizations. Danielle holds a Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Rhetoric from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
