The Hive Chicago Fund for Connected Learning provides essential funds and essential collaborators for Smart Chicago to build youth-centered projects in our Education program. We are an affiliate member of the Hive Learning Network, a thriving network designed to motivate, inspire and support Connected Learning experiences for thousands of young learners.
Specifically, Hive has funded the following work:
- In September 2014, Hive funded Time to Tech, a comprehensive training that will increase organizational technology aptitude
- In April 2014, Hive funded the Hive Mapping Cooperative, a collaboration to improve the ability of smaller organizations to use digital mapping platforms and analysis of the data collected with their youth participants
- In April 2014, Hive funded our second year of #CivicSummer, where we worked with Mikva Challenge, Free Spirit Media, and a new partner, Adler Planetarium, to explore digital tools and activism strategies to increase awareness and understanding of critical issues, to develop digital and media creation skills, to build youth-inspired policy solutions, and to develop advocacy campaigns to seek resolution and change
