Smart Chicago Consultant Christopher Whitaker

Whitaker has served as Smart Chicago's primary research, writer, and event coordinator since December 2012. He has helped to contribute over 300 blog posts and countless hours of streaming video of civic innovation events. Smart Chicago was CivicWhitaker's first client having started with us in February 2013.

He has served as project manager for Civic Works, a program funded by the Knight Foundation and The Chicago Community Trust to spur support civic innovation in Chicago. Whitaker managed the Smart Chicago relationship with all partners, sourced new projects, and wrote lots of content— hundreds of posts.  

Outside of his work with Smart Chicago, Whitaker's company also works closely with Code for America helping to manage their Brigade program in the midwest. Christopher is also the co-host of OpenGov Hack Night.
