Akya Gossit was born and raised in Chicago. She is a single mother of two amazing boys. She currently holds an Associate’s Degree in Social work from Harold Washington College and is now pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree from Governors’ State University in Social Work and Entrepreneurship. She is passionate about helping people.
Akya Gossit served a floating instructor for the Youth-Led Tech | Summer 2015. Akya previously worked as a Social Work Intern for Youth Guidance at Tarkington Elementary where she conducted groups and taught the girls different coping mechanisms for anger and dealing with relational aggression.
