Brad Winick of Planning/Aging, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and AgeOptions
As the population ages, how we plan, build & operate our cities & communities is changing in numerous ways. What is technology’s role in this transformation. Brad Winick will frame the issues around planning communities for an aging population.
Greg Sutton of TEC Services Consulting Inc. will talk about their work with seniors
With all aspects of our lives interacting with technology, it has become increasingly important for everyone to understand, effectively use and competently manage all of this technology. This is especially true for senior citizens as they engage with technology for interaction with public agencies, healthcare providers, financial institutions, family and friends. TEC Services will discuss how they have assisted this growing population in learning how to access and use a variety of technologies as well as how to safeguard themselves. TEC Services will also discuss how broadband in the home is bringing back physician “house calls” and other services to senior citizens.
