At Smart Chicago, all of our efforts are guided by a clear set of principles:

• Open: we focus on technologies and processes that are open. It means open source software, but is also means being open to the idea that we’re wrong about something
• Technology: we believe in the power of technology to remove obstacles and make lives better
• Everyone: Everyone means everyone— in order to have a meaningful network, we must include all
• Chicago: our focus in Chicago,  the people who live & work here, and in the County and State that surround us. We are also creating a national model for this work
